Derived from the Japanese word meaning 'small circle', KOMARU was designed by French photographer and creator Patrick Borie-Duclaud and is manufactured with precision machining and partial handwork in an aerospace machinery factory in Toulouse, France. With its ergonomic design that takes into account every detail, solid construction, strict material selection and aesthetic lines, it has long been loved by photographers around the world.

The Komaru soft release button offers an innovative design that enhances precision and stability when shooting. While conventional soft release buttons have either a concave or convex shape, the Komaru is the first to adopt a dual contour. The outside is convex and the center is concave, and this design is inspired by the keys of a flute. The two shapes combine to better fit the fingers and naturally help to accurately transmit the force required when shooting. Remember that the purpose of a soft release is to enhance precision and stability when releasing, and sometimes to gain two or more aperture stops.

We've recently received a significant number of inquiries from consumers in the United States regarding duties and taxes. This is due to the US government's decision to eliminate the de minimis exemption and establish additional duties. Details are below.
Starting August 29, 2025, the de minimis exemption for all international shipments to the US will be discontinued, and all imports valued at $800 or less will now be subject to duties and taxes. The rates vary by item, and additional duties may apply in addition to the base rate.

PayPal charges a 4.4% fee to sellers by default, which is non-refundable in the event of a refund. For example, if a payment of USD 1,000.00 is immediately refunded, the seller will pay a USD 44.00 fee to PayPal for the transaction, even though no actual purchase was made. This fee is non-refundable. This is especially true for simple refunds, as well as frequent changes in transaction amounts due to changes in options or purchases of other products.
For this reason, refunds or partial refunds requested by PayPal customers will be returned as credits that can be used at any time on our website. This policy applies to PayPal payments only. Please note that refunds and partial refunds are available as before for other payment methods.
